Dear Families,
It is especially important to make sure we are taking care of ourselves and our loved ones in a time that feels uncertain, everchanging, and scary. There are many, many resources out there, so we thought it would be most helpful to share a few of our favorites.
Calm: Child and Adult Wellness Activities - Calm is a popular app focused on Sleep, Meditation and Relaxation. They compiled a free list of content, hand-picked to support mental and emotional wellness through this time. Included in this list, you will find suggestions and videos for meditation, visualizations, grounding exercises and mindfulness activities.
Self-Care in the Time of Coronavirus: For parents, prioritizing your own well-being benefits your whole family - This article from the Child Mind Institute, an organization focused on helping children and families with mental health and learning disabilities, discusses how parents can engage in and prioritize their own self-care. We also encourage you to look through their website, as they now have a COVID-19 resource center that is constantly getting updated with new information and tools.
Well-being Activities for Families - This list of activities was selected based on research to help you look after your mental health and well-being. The activities focus on various themes including gratitude, kindness, resilience, and making connections.
Please know that we continue to be here, so please don’t hesitate to reach out.
